Description

Produced by theatre company Atalaya-TNT and directed by Juana Casado, ‘Aleluya Erótica’ is the first adaptation in terms of flamenco, music and dance of Federico García Lorca’s work ‘The Love of Don Perlimplín and Belisa in the Garden’. An impossible love story in which bailaora Rosario Toledo’s sensuality merges with cantaor José Valencia’s power of expression, and with Dani de Morón’s dreamlike music.

Synopsis

The plot makes up a tender but torn tragicomedy that has allowed Rosario demonstrate her incredible interpretative potential, as well as develop new facets on the stage, what has procured her a great success in terms of critic and public.

In fact, ‘Aleluya Erótica’ was awarded the prize for best show (Giraldillo al Mejor Espectáculo) the year of its première in the Bienal de Sevilla 2012, as well as the awards to best guitarist (Giraldillo al Toque) and best cantaor (Giraldillo al Cante). In addition to this, the show was awarded the prize to best dance show (Mejor espectáculo de Danza), and Juana Casado received the prize to best director (Mejor dirección) in the Premios Escenarios de Sevilla 2012. Finally, ‘Aleluya Erótica’ was nominated to the I Premios de Teatro Andaluz.
